Governor Yap as keynote speaker told the group that in a community there are two sides. One side is for the government to make sure that our citizens will have the proper education, healthcare and job opportunities. The other side is for our police forces to be active in preventing crime and intercepting it.

The Governor reiterated what he said that all of us have to work side by side. He also told the officials and all the members of the PNP that police work begins with intent and end with intent.

As Bohol is a tourism province contributing billions of pesos to the Philippine economy, Gov. Yap requested not only to make the people of Bohol safe but to make our tourists and visitors safe. And that there should be an increase monitoring and intensifying of intelligence work in the province.

Gov. Yap ended his message with a quote from President Duterte, “My countrymen it is a sad commentary that we cannot distinguish our need from our greed our principles form our prejudices the real from the fake and the truth from a lie. We have not risen above. We in govt we talk too much we act to little and we act too slow. I implore those who occupy positions to let your deeds and accomplishments do the talking. Lead by example. Rise above yourselves.”

Governor Yap then congratulated the officials and policemen who are doing a good job in protecting the people.

Certificate of appreciation were awarded to the different police officers for their exemplary performances. And a plaque of appreciation and token were also given to the Governor.

This years theme for the crime prevention week, “Buhay pahalagahan, komunidad magtulungan, krimen hadlangan”.
