Gov. Art Yap is asking for continued vigilance as he inspected Tagbilaran Port this morning. He urged port authorities to sustain strong monitoring of tourists arrivals even as Bohol has zero Persons Under Investigation (PUIs) for the CoronaVirus Disease (COVID-2019). Yap is ensuring that proper procedures are observed in the turnover of arrivals. The Provincial Security Force has been directed to assist in the arrivals, to receive tourists and to endorse them to the contact thermometer booth. He also gave instructions for the tent to be situated right at the exit point. Observing operations at the port, Yap questioned the Department of Health for singling out Taiwan for quarantine in Cebu when in there is no such thing in the National Level. He emphasized that there are six other countries with higher infection cases. In a telephone conversation with Secretary Duque, he clarified that the ban had already been lifted. However tourists and locals alike from Taiwan were automatically being quarantined for 14 days with or without fever as of yesterday. Yap is seeking clarification from the DOH on the policy of putting visitors in quarantine.
