Bohol has surpassed by more than 560% its target number of returned locally stranded individuals (LSIs) for June.As of today, June 30, already 6,645 LSIs from different places of origin have gone back to the province.
COVID-19 Technical Working Group spokesperson Dr. Yul Lopez said during Capitol’s virtual presser this afternoon that 2,898 LSIs had already completed their mandatory 14-day quarantine.
They had been all medically cleared and gone back to their respective homes after testing negative.There are 3,747 LSIs still to complete their quarantine.
In a meeting of the then Provincial Emergency Management Administration in May, Gov. Arthur Yap revealed his initial repatriation target of only around a thousand LSIs by whole of June.
The province has achieved far more than the estimate despite the COVID threat which respects no boundaries.
